Why That Catholic Family?

Our Inspiration is our love for Jesus Christ, our love for our Holy Catholic faith, and our passion for our Catholic family to be part of the communal life of the everyday believer. On our journey what we’ve discovered is that having and creating sacred space helps us be more inclined to holiness. It’s the sacred space that raises our attentiveness, heightens our senses, and orders our desires, reminding us that we are eternally destined.

Our aim is to be set apart and to help our community stand apart with sacred space that inclines their hearts and minds to God, to love of neighbor, to service, and reinforcing our commitment to the Great Commission. (MT 28:18-20)

While in all of this work we depend on and trust in the Holy Spirit, sacred space is a powerful and distinguished way of preaching the Gospel without words while opening incredible opportunities for the Spirit to inspire conversation.

Our Favorite Sacred Space

Who are we kidding, we love it all, but one of our favorites is our engraved Rosary Board. With our 11 children you can imagine the need for sacred space for our Rosaries, and it’s not only a great reminder for us to pray, but a beautiful reminder of the incredible blessings it is to have a family that prays together.

Another favorite is our Catholic devotional table piece that we exchange every month according to the Monthly Catholic Devotions. The early Church devoted themselves daily to meeting together and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying favor with all the people. (Acts 2:46). These center pieces remind us not only of the devotion but also give us the same joy and exultation, and lead us to the praise of God. (These will be ready for purchase in November)

Finally, we can’t get enough of the face of Jesus and the reminder that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. These images along with the beautiful sacramentals we have throughout our home make it easy to be inclined towards God.

Our Logo

If you haven’t been able to tell we love our Catholic Faith. It’s the Faith that’s inspired us to know and love Jesus Christ, to know service and love of our neighbor, to understand the sacredness of all human life, and to allow Christ to be the center of all of our life and life decisions

The Center of our Logo

The crucifix in the center is that reminder for us to make Christ the center of our everything, and that when we do that everything else falls in place.

The Rays of Light

They’re a reminder to us that Christ is Who leads us out of darkness and that He is the light of the whole world.

The Rosary

Attached to the crucifix is the Rosary, which surrounds everything in the logo like prayer guides everything in our life. The Rosary has been our greatest weapon and the most powerful of meditative prayers on the life of Christ. Praying the Rosary as a family is our most cherished time together and gives us the Grace to face everyday.

The Silhouette of our Family

Simply it brings joy to our heart as you can’t help but see and feel the Love, Grace, & Mercy of God.

The Two Stars

Are a reminder to us of difficult times past and yet our trust in God’s goodness. Our family experienced two different painful miscarriages, which also brought other Graces. Those experiences, that loss, our Catholic faith, and those two stars remind us that we already have two of our own prayer warriors in heaven waiting for our arrival. These stars are also a testament to our belief that all life is sacred.

The Title

Our realization that without Christ we have no identity and that through our Catholic faith we’ve come to know Him more fully, our faith is our identity.

The ‘O’ in Catholic

The Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Jesus, the Bread of Life, and the supersubstantial bread that helps us pick up our cross daily with our eyes fixed on Jesus the leader and perfected of our faith.

The Keys

Reminds us that the gates of hell shall never prevail against His church.

The Verses

Are a consensus of the Faith and what it is to be a disciple of Jesus Christ which reminds us of why we do what we do, but also challenges us more deeply to live it.

Our Hope

While we love all the beautiful things we’ve customized and created we do love to do customizations and we would love nothing more than for our community to have a customized version of their own, That Catholic Family engraving.

If this is something you want for your family, all you have to do is send an email with your request and either a description of your family or get us a picture and we can adjust the family silhouette and the stars. Also, yours would be called ‘Our Catholic Family,’
unless otherwise noted.

Our Favorite Catholic Verse

Acts 2:42, a microcosm of the Holy Catholic Faith.“ They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles, and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread, and to the prayers.”

Teaching of the Apostles (Sacred Tradition) gives us peace of mind that no matter what’s going on in the world or the Church that the promise of Christ remains, “the gates of hell shall never prevail against it” MT 16:18.

The Communal Life, is not mundane, lukewarmness, or a once a week ordeal, but the richness of the faith that in our time and in all times needs to be shared in new and bold ways, not to undermine Sacred Tradition and those things we have in common, but to embrace it and make it tangible for our time and meeting people where they’re at.

The Breaking of the bread, the Sacred Tradition of the community of believers since the bread of life discourse that, “whoever eats the flesh and drinks the blood of Christ has eternal life, and He will raise him on the last day.” (JN 6:54). It is He that sustains us and is our being. “Do this, as often as you eat and drink it, in remembrance of me.”For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes. (1 Cor 11:25-26)

The Prayers

Most of us underestimate prayer.
One of our favorite stories is when the people of God were in battle with Amalek. As long as Moses hands were raised toward heaven they were successful in battle and when he grew weary and they fell so did the people. Prayer is our most powerful weapon and our hope is that our sacred images and home decor help lead you and your loved ones to a more frequent, better, and rigorous prayer life.
